Apples in-display fingerprint sensor
The new line up of iPhones coming this September will not utilise a in-display fingerprint sensor as far as we are aware, as Apple have been working on their Face ID facial recognition system.
According to reports, Apple has been working on an in-display fingerprint sensor to improve their security. Even though this isn’t the first time we have heard about this type of technology, as for companies like Samsung and OnePlus, they already utilise this type of technology. Having an in-display fingerprint sensor, will still allow Apple to have their edge-to-edge design that the recent iPhone line up has had.
This new feature may appear in the 2020 iPhones, with hopefully 5G connectivity joining it. But there have been rumours that it may get pushed until 2021. Also a new iPhone SE could be possibly arriving next year, and according to sources, it will look like the iPhone 8 with a physical Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the home button.
